How many of you have never sold any of your bikes?

Due to moving back to Australia from UK I have no choice but to sell my pair of GTS's, my Vespa 50 Special gets the spot in the container.

After putting the adds up on ebay I am feeling so sad about it, having never sold any of the bikes I have bought since 2001, which is why I have too many. I was very happy to get rid of our car, car's are just hassle here in London but Vespa's are fun!!

Common allergy and there is no cure in the works. Sorry to hear you are in a forced sell situation.

I'm the opposite

As I have only one bike at time, the sadness of giving the old up turns into the delight of having a new one in a flash.

To be honest, somekind of leasing sceme could work for a person like me. I don't seem to get attached to bikes, no matter how much I like to ride them. Could also be some sort of fear of commitment....

On the other hand, new Vespas can be at least as much fun as the current ones in the garage.

Yes it does mean a new GTS 300 HPE at the other end, I give you that.

Rallygeek,

Good luck back in Aussie Land.

I am not moving anytime soon, but will never sell my GTS 300 Super.
I may have my wife or kids bury my Cheeky Seat Cover with me.

Better to sell it and regret it than keep it and regret it. I have no problem selling anything that will collect dust.

I always thought the goal was to acquire not to sell... so I don't consider it an allergy.

I am allergic to pain however. The choked up unable to breathe tears streaming down is an allergic reaction I am not crying!

Owned dozens upon dozens. Sold all but, I think 6-7 of them. There are always better bikes to come.

Truth be told I am with Adri on this one. Working class parent lucky to be able to have one bike.

Almost always I have had to sell one to be able to get another one. There was one time in my life though when I went ahead and bought a new bike before I sold my old one so I had two bikes for a short period of time.

My youngest brother came to visit me when I was living and working in the San Francisco Bay area. He was there to attend a meditation seminar. I am the oldest and he is 14 years my junior. I had ridden him on the front with me when he was only two years old maintaining a family tradition.

So when he came to visit I put him on my 1975 Ducati before I sold it and we went on an epic ride through the beautiful east bay hills finishing up with a trip across the bay bridge to go get beers at the old coffee factory turned into a bar on the Embarcadero.

If it sits around too long - it's gone. I have 4 children and never had the scratch to afford more than one at a time. Sometimes none. Now that the kids are up and out, I could get more than one, but have no desire to do so as I am trying to simplify my life. In my case - one is enough.
