Yeah we missed you to. The spring 24 one is still in high level negotiations so watch this space.

The dates of the 2024 Spring Gathering are: May 16-19, 2024. 3 nights coming in on Thursday, May 16th and checking out Sunday May 19th.

The location is still To Be Determined (TBD). However, mark the dates on your calendar now.

Is this mostly an mp3 gathering? Or do Vespa's attend as well?

It started out as predominately MP3 but others were always welcome. Now there are few MP3s. In fact, at the last two I had the only MP3. We had a mix of Vespas, maxis and other motorcycles. It is preferable to have 250cc or higher because of the elevation changes most of the routes take.

Sold my 2016 MP3 500 recently, but I still have my other two.
I have some hip issues from a fall (Not related to a bike injury.) but sure will try and come to the next one.

So keep checking and the accommodations for the Spring 2024 Gathering will be announced soon with contact info to reserve a room/cabin.

OK I have unlocked this for discussion. The Copperhead Lodge is not responding so we are back to looking for another base. The consensus was North GA or NC. Any ideas welcome.

Location possibilities --

Maggie Valley Nc-several motels to choose from. Central location.
Stecoah Nc - Iron horse is a great gathering spot but $$$$. No food nearby.
Cherokee Nc. Hotels, central location.
Bryson city Nc. Small quaint motels, great food. Quiet little town.
Cherohala Mountain trails campground. TN- if camping is an option.
Two wheels of Suches GA-- if camping is an option.
Helen GA. German town with Plenty of hotel options.
Hiawassie GA , several lodges, B&B. Great food options.
Fall Creek Falls state park Tn. Very nice lodge, food on site. Good roads

Just a few places that have alot to offer.

I did a little looking for stuff around Tellico Plains, but the places I've stayed apparently are no longer open.

If we're looking for around the same north GA area, my first thoughts were either TWO or the airport right across the road (that we've never successfully gotten booked into, I don't think...)

Trying to sleep near an airport has not worked out well for me in the past. Lessons were learned.

you obviously have never been to suches ga and the airport there. While it is technically an airport with a wind direction flag and a grass runway, the amount of air traffic is probably close to 5-10 landings and take offs per year.

Yes, I have been there but only as a rest stop. Never an overnight guest. I had no knowledge of an airport nearby. Sounds like its a single hangar with 1 Cessna on the verge of being mothballed.
