So I'm going to order a variator kit for my Liberty 150.
There seems to be two poplar versions, Malossi and JCosta.
Does anyone have experience with both that can make a recommendation?
I realize it's not a Vespa but same iget engine as the Primavera and Sprint.

Thanks.

I have a Liberty 150S with the Malossi Multivar kit. I installed the white clutch spring, the Malossi variator, and the 12.5 g weights that came with the kit.
The scooter accelerates and decelerates harder than stock. Off throttle, it only starts coasting when nearly stopped (with the stock setup, it would coast freely below 10mph). Top speed is about the same for me, 60-65 mph, GPS measured.

You could probably achieve the same result for less money by fiddling with your variator weights. Lots of threads on MV about that. Good luck.

Thanks for your product report!
I tend to think Piaggio set things up in my best interests as an owner....although printed statements claim an extra 10mph on ghe 50cc engine?
If I wanted more - I'd buy bigger.
O.S.

Thanks for the input.
Here's a confusing part. Both scooterparts and scooterwest sell the Malossi variator kit, scooterparts comes with 11.5 gram rollers and scooterwest comes with 13.5 gram rollers. Both come with the white springs but are different specs. When you look up fitment at the mallosi store the one sold by scooterparts seems to be the correct one. Maybe scooterwest is geared more toward Vespa models (FD gearing, wheel size - maybe?). To add to the confusion the Malossi Kevlar belt has a different part number at each store.

To make this fun you have to drink a shot every time you read scooterparts and scooterwest.

I'll have to look at the kit again to see which weights I did not put in. I may be misremembering the roller weights I installed.

I believe the kit came with 9 gram rollers for the 125cc and 13.5 for the 150cc.
