Followed the stator wire from the engine and it goes towards the battery compartment. Pulled out the battery and the regulator and the wires head into the frame under the floorboard. Do I have to pull the floorboard to get to the connector? Pic below shows a clip that goes thru the frame but I'm afraid to break it if it's not supposed to be pulled into the battery compartment.

Just for future reference the floorboard does have to be removed. Is there an easier way to test the stator without removing the floorboard?
