I'm preparing to sell my 2018 Liberty 150 S and the horn is dead. I've check fuses and removed the very front center plate but fear removing more of the front cover to access the horn is beyond me. Has anyone had to replace the horn or switch and have any guidance? I haven't found a video specific to this issue. I'm no mechanic but I try!
I have the same issue (horn not working on my newly purchased 2018 Piaggio Liberty 150S). All other electronic controls on fuse 5 work fine, so not a blown fuse. Scooter only has 1000 km, so lots of "storage time" over these past 5 years. Probably either a frozen contact at the switch or a problem at the horn itself
Any suggestions how to troubleshoot this issue appreciated and likely appropriate for the original poster as well.
Took apart the handlebar cover to gain access to the switch, removed the switch from its wire connection, used the contact spray on the switch and wired connector, reconnected the switch, but horn still didn't work. I'm getting power to the switch, which suggests to me the switch is the culprit. Will order a new switch immediately and advise if this fixes my horn issue.
I have had this problem with 2 different scooters. In both cases I was able to remove the housing and pull out the horn switch. File with a mini file, apply a bit of silicone grease, and put it back together. Voila, problem solved.
In the switch removal process, I overstressed one of the locking push tabs, so looks like I'm committed to buying a new switch (and hope that fixes the problem).
