I've never seen this before, but I thought it was kinda funny. I found it while I was removing the spare.

Now I was just using this for decoration, but imagine it doing duty on the pavement. 57 year old CEAT with medium tread remaining.

That's what happens when you have a very HOT exhaust and stop... the area by exhaust heats up, melts/softens binding agents/glue...
