I am moving to the mountains and, sadly, wont have space/time for the scoots.
1979 Vespa P200E
I bought this in June 2022 from a reputable scooter guy in SF. I took it to SF Scooter Centre and they checked it out before I bought it. After I bought it, I had SF Scooter Centre do $1,200 worth of work to get it into really good working shape. See list of work below:
Lubed head set.
Removed throttle cable from carb. Was able to lube inner cable.
Harness, choke & throttle cable were routed through fuel line opening. While gas tank was out of bike, re-routed properly and installed missing grommets
Removed gas tank. Replaced old fuel and oil lines
Fixed bad ground for LH side panel
Stator wires are brittle. Rewired stator
Kill wire is old and brittle. Installed new kill wire through frame
Remove & Install bent center stand with proper brackets
Replaced bad speedo light bulb.
Neutral light works, but switch was not working. was able to get switch working.
Headlight was wired up wrong, fixed.
High beam indicator is bad, fixed
Lubed inner headset
Service; changed engine oil, changed spark plug, lubed headset and center stand, serviced battery, adjusted cables, cleaned air filter, adjusted carburetor & torqued down loose carb bolts, adjusted tire pressure, checked electrical operation, checked general operation of scooter
Changed short HT lead
Was able to adjust clutch cable & clutch seems OK at this time
Adjusted steering stops
After getting it home and riding it, I noticed it slips in 2nd and 3rd gear. I don't know if it just needs an adjustment to the shifter cables or a new cruciform. I parked the bike, not wanting to do any damage. Never got around to fixing it/having it fixed. Started and rode it about 3 weeks ago and it still rides and runs well, other than the slipping in 2nd and 3rd gears. Starts 2nd kick.

2010 Genuine Stella 4T
I bought this bike brand new in 2012. Since I moved to the Bay Area, it has been maintained by SF Scooter Centre. It has always run well and I really like this scoot. In February 2022, I went to ride it, started it, put it in gear and it jumped forward and died. Tried again, same thing. I first thought the clutch cable had broken, but that wasn't it, so then I thought it was the clutch. Took it to SF Scooter Centre and they put a new clutch in. Then they rode it and determined one of the teeth broke off the christmas tree gear. So, the bike runs, has a new clutch, but shouldn't be ridden as is because the gears makes all sorts of noise and eventually that broken gear is going to do some real damage. I was going to buy an LML 200 engine from SIP Scootershop. There is a guy in Wisconsin who did this, he said it's a straight swap and pretty seamless. I really love this bike and don't want to see it go to the dump. Hoping someone will take it and make it run again!
