Looking for some help setting up a vape ignition on vespa p2 completely kitted out.
On the vape kit I have there is a section with degrees marks no numbers where should I install it? What degree do I want it to fire BTDC?
Thanks

Can someone move this to the NSM side?

Static or variable timing?

Long story short, you're going to have to buy some timing tools so you can accurately measure and set your timing. If that doesn't work, find someone in a club or take it to a mechanic.

If this is a static CDI then yes, 18* BTDC is a good starting point.

If this is the variable timing CDI you'll have to look at the instructions (usually 24 auto retarding to 16)

What MJ said.

Start with 18 BTDC if it's static and not some sort of rev monster. If it is, go with 17.

If it's variable, it's going to get more complicated. You'll need to know your peak power RPMS and set it to that. Or just assume 7,000 and use that to start.

Where are the special screws and washers for the plate? Is there enough clearance for the bolt heads under the flywheel?

I had that same question.

I think SIP has stopped putting them in the kit. All new photos don't show any screws for the plate…

Oh they're new cost savings measures. Don't include all the hardware for the brackets now the big ticket item. A hole move
