I have a 2023 GTS 300 super I set the clock after I took delivery bc the time was off. I noticed now the clock is off again. Any idea why it jumps 8 minutes off. I do have a theory that the government controls the time with anything connected to the internet.

Delusions of persecution? Paranoia? Conspiracy theory?

Does anyone know if a Tinfoil hat will fit in the helmet compartment?

Fun?! Laughing emoticon ROFL emoticon

The instruction manual will help:

"MENU SETTINGS.
With the vehicle stationary, briefly press the joystick to the left to display the "SETTING MENU" function in the Infopanel.
Press the joystick to the right for a long time to enter the menu.
Press the joystick briefly up or down to highlight the desired function, press the joystick briefly in the middle to select:

LANGUAGE
CLOCK
UNITS
PAIRING
BACKLIGHT (BACKLIGHT)

(…)
SETTING THE CLOCK

The clock is automatically set when the "Vespa MIA" device is connected.

To set the clock manually, proceed as follows:

Press the joystick up or down briefly to set the desired hours and minutes. By pressing the joystick for a long time, the numbers will change continuously.

Confirm by pressing the joystick briefly in the middle.

As soon as the selection is confirmed, the display shows the next submenu UNITS.

If more than 5 seconds pass without a selection being made, the display changes to the selection of the CLOCK submenu.

WARNING

FOR SAFETY REASONS, THE CLOCK SETTING CAN ONLY BE MADE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY."

A Vespa is a premium device. Are you sure it's the Vespa that's wrong and not all your other clocks?
If you're a true blue Vespa rider you should live your life in Vespa time regardless.

I've done this a few time to match what ever time is on my phone. I understand 1-2 minutes different fine but when it get 8-10 minute difference I start to wonder if there might be something wrong.

I have never heard of this phenomenon. There is nothing about it in the German forum either. If this understandably annoys you, talk to your dealer.

The clock on my Supertech never held correct time until I implement a clock sync on my own app.

I have a super GTS so the app won't work for me.

Even digital clocks drift over time. Nothing to be overly concerned about. My GTS clock drifted by a few minutes over two years.

It is real and it is annoying. I reset my clock last week as it was off by 30 minutes. Last time I set it before was when we changed to summer time. The android Mia app definitely does not set the time.

I can understand why people get cross with the digital clocks drifting on Piaggios. There's no excuse for it, as temperature changes etc affect stick-on digital watches just as much if not more, and *they* don't drift like that.

[huge generalisation alert] Italians don't seem to be that bothered about time in the first place, so maybe none of their QA engineers over the years ever spotted the errors. [/alert]

I find myself also completely unbothered by the drifting clock. I did notice it, but have not until now ever given it any thoughts. But then I am the kind of person that doesn't always set my PTW clock an hour back in the fall.

After all, I go for rides to escape things like precise time keeping and stretch distances that I could cover in a short time into something that gives me pleasure for a good chunk of my day.

Add on: my car clock drifts as well and strangely does worse when I set it to synchronize via GPS. It's not only Piaggio and it's okay.

I'm in the camp where if it's going to have a clock, it should show the correct time.

The blank clock on my LX drove me crazy until I was able to change the battery.

I don't mind the drifting 1-2 minutes but when it's 10 plus minutes ahead and you think you're running late but you had plenty of time. Also setting the clock every few days is getting annoying.

Take the battery out and add a stick-on cheapo digital watch.

I use my $13 Casio watches when the straps break - as new straps are almost as much as the watch was in the first place.

I understand that. It still would not concern me much, setting a clock is easy and Vespas are not the only vehicles that have clocks that aren't always accurate. Hondas have had this problem for a while: https://www.ctvnews.ca/mobile/business/honda-investigating-potential-problem-with-clock-displays-in-some-cars-1.5731019

Also: my Vespa is my first PTW that even has a built in clock, I can't say that I ever missed that feature on a motorcycle before.

I don't think there's a separate clock battery anymore. But you can bring up the trip time instead of the clock.

I adjusted my clock 4 days ago and made it 2 minutes behind what ever my iPhone was showing. I wanted to see if maybe I adjusted it wrong in the passed but sure enough today it was 3 minutes ahead of my iPhone.

My Honda CBR had a clock that I could navigate by! My 06 GTS was worthless and I do like a good clock as I live on an island and need to catch a ferry to get off. I'll check my new 23 and see if it's holding better time. A time module should be accurate to a few seconds a week!

So I have to adjust the clock every 3 days. By day 3 it's 15+ minutes ahead.
