I'm pretty comfortable with using any gauge on my larger scooters (GTS and BV), but the rear wheel of my LX is a right PITA. I think it boils down to the angle of the gauge....great for car tires, not so much for the tight space. I stumbled across this 90 degree pencil gauge that seems to work a lot better, though it still does it's share of leakage if not aligned right.

It's a bit pricey, at around $20, but I won't have to replace batteries and I expect it will last my lifetime, so there's that. Now if they only made a leakproof model.

Some years back I got a digital gauge through Lee Valley that was the bees knees, but it requires scrolling through 3 different measurement scales, needs to be rebooted between tires and occasionally needs a battery. Not getting replaced.

For actual inflation at home, I have a compressor, and the lock-on chucks work best for me FWIW.

Accu-gage RA60X

5-60psi, right angle head on a swiveling 11" lead that's actually flexible and you don't have to fight, bleeder valve on the stem of the gauge that actually works. brass construction.

I have whiz-bang digital gauges that read in 1/2lb increments, are back lit, and have LEDS and noisemakers, but this is the gauge I use the most.
