I know this thread had some attention several years ago, so I apologize for bringing it up again.
As noted in the subject, lately my Vespa has been difficult to start, plus, over the past week or so it will just die while I am riding on the road.
What I gleaned from previous threads is that the culprit can be several pesky problems, but it seems that getting a new PDI unit and maybe a new carburetor would solve my issues?
My problem is that here in Tahiti there is only one Vespa dealer and they are notoriously low on spare parts....like me obtaining a new carburetor. So, I did locate one in the US which they can ship to me her win Tahiti. The semi-good news is that the local vespa dealer did have the CDI part in stock, which I will receive later today.
But, I am an architect and know plenty about designing and building homes, but know pretty much nothing about addressing issues with engines, etc.
So..my question pertains to where exactly the CDI unit lives on my Vespa. I believe it resides sort of behind the spark plug area, as noted in the screenshot image I attached?? While investigating what I think is the location to swap out the new CDI, I was having trouble removing the casing behind the spark plug to see it. From what I gather it is not a huge d deal to swap it out for the new unit. I pretty much scoured the internet looking for a video showing its location, but was not successful.
Any thoughts or direction on this would really be helpful.
Thanks
