Hi all,

Recently purchased a 64 model Vespa 150. Need to do an oil change on the crank case but can't figure out what oil to use and where to get it.

I'm in Sydney Australia.
A guy at the shop recommended 5w30 mineral?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Simon

Agree with the other gents, and I have VBB2 like yours:

Lots of vespisti now prefer 75w/85 GL-4 gear oil over the previous recommendation of non detergent 30w oil. Holds its viscosity better.

Plus Piaggio gave that recommendation later on as the correct oil.

Hopefully I have done ok with these?

Bloody $40 for the two stroke is a bit insane, but it's the only high end one they had. [/img]

You really don't need full synthetic, but I realise some people do prefer it.
Here's the cheapest place to buy it in Aus -
https://www.colliermiller.com.au/3384384-castrol-power1-racing-2t-4l

MXStore have free delivery over $20 so even if you're just buying a litre it makes it reasonable. Their 4-litre Power1 is $109. Penrite semi-synthetic is great choice for just over $20, I've bought it at Supercheap before.
