Picked a sweet 1974 90 earlier this summer that had a number of electrical issues. The prior owner installed a 12v battery by mistake and all the bulbs were blown as well as the flasher relay. Any recommendations for the headlight/mounting clamps? After searching I can't find anything close to the amazingly over built bulb assembly that is in there.

I'm also looking for a bit more power but also something that's bolt-on with no frame modifications required. I've already installed a SHBC 19.19 and banana which helped.

I was looking at these from SIP. Any recommendations from y'all experts?

Racing Cylinder SIP PERFORMANCE 125 cc 6 Travasi
Racing Cylinder POLINI Mono 130 cc
Racing Cylinder POLINI Racing 130 cc

Thanks

I vote for SIP cylinder. It is the same as VMC GS 125cc. Only seems with modified cylinder base so you don't need to cut flywheel dust cap to mount cylinder.

I have it on my 50 Special and very happy with it. Here you can find more details of my setup.

I'm not sure what euro bulb conversion is, sdjohn. Do you have a link?

Euro style only the bulb inside the lens needs to be changed. American style, the whole shebang is a sealed beam and everything needs to be changed.

are you going to leave this 3spd?

if so, then the name of the game is torque. you've already got the 19 and banana, so that's bueno.

I'd lean toward one of the flavors of the polini 130 (standard or the mono), or if you wanted to be super budget an Olympia or DR would be fine. the VMC stuff is super nice, but they all but practically require porting the transfers to match. where as the polini you can just snap on and go, or just gasket match if you're feeling frisky.

either way you're going to need new cylinder studs and cylinder shroud.

greasy, yeah for the season --- or a few seasons --- I'll likely stay 3spd. City riding within a couple miles the 3 is still fun.

Thanks all.
