I was in Boston for meetings this week. Yesterday I decided to walk from the Prudential Center to North Station, about two miles. I saw at least four scooter riders ripping up Newbury St. without a helmet (state law) and another two riders pushed to the front of a red light and proceeded to speed through the busy crosswalk, forcing pedestrians to scramble out of the way, myself included.
I grew up just north of the city and do not recall such brazen midday shenanigans. Is this a thing now?
