have for a while been aware of som exhaust noise, and to day i dug in to it.
and found a crack(gaping) in the down pipe to my muffler!...any other expirienced the same before??

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? If so this is know to sometimes happen (happened to me). Replace the broken manifold with a stainless steel one. (Sip sells them, think scooter West does also)

thanx for leading me to the part, but it is 350 dollars......so yeah...i'll weld my old pipe!!!
is there any added tension due to the performance exhaust??

Make sure the muffler is not overtightened onto the pipe once you repair the crack. 10 ft lbs is all you need.
The muffler is supposed to slide a bit on the pipe when you're riding. If you make the muffler-pipe connection rigid, the header pipe cracks.

just to note: OP has a remus dual flow fitted (unless that's changed).

unfortunately, broken exhaust and aftermarket exhaust are somewhat synonymous...
