I'm looking to add a floor rack to my Elettrica and can't choose between the side or top mount racks. I like that the side mount is wider and doesn't raise your cargo, but wonder if it will push my feet out due to the supports that brace against the floorboard. I won't have to worry about that with top mount floor racks but I prefer to keep cargo as low as possible.

I'd appreciate any opinions on both styles of floor racks. Thanks!

If the Primavera / Sprint tunnel covers are the same as the Elettrica, then consider Classic Racks:

I have a front rack, a rear top box, and a rack, on the floor between my feet. The rack on the floor between my feet also he has a holder for my coffee cup. I find all of them helpful, and have been able to carry quite a bit of things when I need to.

Functionally I kinda like that side-mount design for the reasons you mention. I also carry the majority of any luggage, low and central, on my tunnel rack. I would've gone for that design if I'd come across it. I like the downward pegs for tiedown. I just have the curved one from classicracks. I'm assuming they have one that fits your bike.

The width issue wouldn't negatively affect my foot placement, as I ride with my feet at the outer edges of the floorboard for effective, stable positioning.

I can't think of a more useless feature (at least for me) than a cup holder that's available on some of the tunnel racks. A cup would fly out within half minute on any average street in my area.

I would chose this one. The top looks flat (think wine box) and it has thingies for attaching a small cargo net or bungie straps.

The ones from Classic Racks look more, uh, classic than the side mount rack and distributing all the weight all the time over the four screws appears more stable.

My concern with the side mount one is that it is two pieces that are held on by sheet metal screws, and if you get something heavy on there, I suspect it might push the rack into the floorboard. If that's not a concern, it really does look fairly practical.
