Hi All - I would really appreciate some advice.

I bought a cheaper exhaust from Ali Express. It looks to be a straight pipe with no silencer. No cat converter in sight.

It is too loud - but that is one issue.

Will the straight pipe negatively impact my scoot? Engine wise? Back pressure an issue?

Here is a link to the video of it running:

https://youtube.com/shorts/eKsyWWYJOlE?feature=share

I took it for a spin, it is far too loud and it stinks. So I'll have to get a new one.

Just wondering IF it safe to ride or will it impact my engine?

Does it have a baffle / db killer in it like most aftermarket exhausts do? Can't see in your video. Need pic of the end of it.

Here is the end.

You could see straight through prior to installation. So no cat.

I agree - I wasn't expecting much.

My question is whether or not it is safe to ride? I don't know much about back pressure requirements etc, certainly don't want to blow the engine or anything.

I'll invest in a legit one - which will take weeks to deliver. This was a good experiment.

Stick that noisy, polluting piece of junk in the nearest recycling bin and bolt the original back on would be my advice.

You're not going to hurt the engine riding around with that thing. I would suggest you disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes. That should allow the ECU to reprogram itself to your noise maker.

Bin it, can it, toss it or use it as a boat anchor.

I have a similar muffler on my Sei Giorni. There's a thread here on it. It's been on a few months now and I like everything about it. It sounds about like yours. I like the looks and the sound.

Bike runs perfectly and even gives a wonderful series of pops as you decelerate. At first I thought it was loud but now it seems fine. Just good fun. Yours looks great to me!

Pretty sure you could order a different DB Killer to make it quieter.
How much was it? Oh yea and mine was slide-on so a breeze to install. About $150

It looks to be without baffles, but there appears to be a resonator built in. Is so, this would just change the pitch or change the sound without damping it. Many aftermarket exhaust pipes on motorcycle are built this way to achieve a certain low sound that gives them a thrill.
