I parked my et2 50 in 2019 and just getting back to it. I replaced the battery, spark plug and filled it with gas. I noticed a leak at the fuel line. I replaced both fuel lines but now gas will not flow to the carb and also no I am getting no spark. I read about the CDI is there a test for that? Also any thoughts on the fuel issue? It ran great when I parked it.

You will probably have to take the carb out and clean it out with carb cleaner. You may also need to put a new petcock on to get it to run right as it's been sitting for so long.
However there is usually one fuel line and one vacuum line, if these are put back the wrong way round you won't get fuel out.
Before buying a new cdi I would check the spark plug cap is on properly as they need a bit of push to go on.

Thanks, I ordered a new fuel tap and it should be here today. The lower connection on the fuel tap is the vacuum line correct? And this connect to the front side of the carb? And the top connection on the fuel tap is the gas line and connects to the back side of the carb? I can pull the carb off later today. On the spark issue I made sure the spark plug wire was on all the way. Also tried an in-line spark tester with no luck. How often do the cdis go bad on these things is that common?

Yes, bottom one on the petcock is the vacuum.
Carb connections see the thread below, there is some other info on there as well about spark issues.

ET2 sick....what is this for (pic)?

Thank for the link on the fuel system. On the spark is that typically an issue sat the stator coil, flywheel pickup or cdi? I am sure there are many other wires to check but most look good with out any issues. But have not traced the full wire harness yet.

Link to the service manual

Hopefully it's the cdi, that's the easier and cheaper one to change.

Connectors and switches can get dodgy with age, including the ignition switch. It's right behind the horn cover and subject to exposure to water/crud making things worse.

When you turn the key on - the indicators should work, and the stop light should work. You might also see the oil light come on.

If those things don't happen, the CDI circuit is open so no sparky.

Before you get a CDI I would replace the 20 year old spark cable and cap.

Looks like all of those work when the ignition is on but no spark.

Great - one less puzzle piece to deal with. 👍

Stuff like that is annoying but very satisfying when it gets fixed. 🤞

Remove the floorboards and disconnect the harness from the stator. Close to the spark plug bay is a round white plug. Unplug that.

Try kickstarting it with the bottom of the spark plug grounded to unpainted metal. The round white plug is your killswitch, electric start, lights. By disconnecting it, you can test if the harness or killswitch are causing problems OR if it's CDI/stator.

But you could remove the spark plug cap, stick the end of the cable in your mouth, or stick a threaded spark plug terminal into the end of the wire and turn it over to see if it has spark. I strongly recommend the latter. You can even bare an mm of spark plug wire core, hold it close to exposed engine metal, and see if it's getting spark.
In my experience, it's almost always the CDI. A Vespa can have 8 miles on it, but if it's 20 years old, it can still be the CDI.

So did some more testing and it seems like the cdi. I ordered one online should be here Monday or Tuesday. I will follow up once it is installed.
