I was looking at picking up this large frame engine as a spare for my P200e, considering I have all the tools and extra gaskets. It seems like the engine stampings have been messed with? I would expect something like a VES1M or similar, or I'm just just unfamiliar.

Any info you can gleam from the photos would be much appreciated!

Saw that listing somewhere.
It's a nope, no way, scam type listing.

It's definitely not a VSE motor. Some kind of two port motor (super VBB for example). Swingarm and rear axle seal retaining nut give it away. Probably off a SEA scoot

Nah, they have a few more vespa items now clearly from the same garage, and texted a dozen or so photos. The original listing absolutely looks like a scam though.

Oh boy, did not notice that (because it's not there...)

Yeah that's a pass from me lol. Was hoping for good housings and maybe some gears, definitely not now.

It looks like they "erased' the numbers with a hammer. You can still see a zero on the upper line.

You sure? But maybe still a fake number?
I only have this one to go by, and it is unmolested

Yeah, probably restamped but numbers refer to LML. Anyways, OP wanted a 200 and that's definitely not a 200 whatever the VIN…

Not necessarily a 200, but something that would work well enough as a spare. I'd prefer to avoid LML regardless.

Open throttle and look down venturi - do you see a reed valve, or a rotary valve when rotating the motor?

EXPERTS: Were ALL LML motors reed valve? Or did they do an older rotary version like Bajaj?
