I've been struggling trying to get comfortable on our LX150ie. I'm 6' with a 32" inseam and find myself sitting on the hump of the passenger section. I tried a pad on the original seat. I had Suzy, at Cheeky seats, make me a cover with extra padding in the rider section to try to level it a bit. This worked OK, but after about an hour, I feel the ridge and seams.

I've had Corbins on all my Harleys, BMWs and Triumphs. I have a nice custom modified Corbin on my GTS right now. So, I really do like their seats.

I decided to bite the bullet and order one for the LX with a few modification like my GTS. I had them move the rider section back 2 inches, raise the nose up so there is no forward slant and shave the sides of the riders' pocket so it doesn't dig in my hips. I never ride 2 up on this Vespa so the loss of passenger space doesn't matter.

The seat came today after 5 weeks waiting. The installation was pretty straight forward except right away, it would not close properly because the rear aftermarket luggage rack was in the way. Luckily, I was able to find the old grab rail that I had removed and reinstalled it. The seat its perfectly.

So far so good in comfort. It started raining pretty hard right after I put it on and only got a short ride up the block.

Without further ado, here are some pictures of the new seat.

I got out this morning for about 30 miles on the new seat before it got too hot. A big thumbs up. It was the first time since owning this Vespa that I really didn't want to stop riding. There was no real break-in period. It was comfortable from the first mile and not hard at all. I hesitated spending this much for an older Vespa, but now I wish I had bought it earlier.

I had to stop at one of my favorite spots on Jupiter Island, the golf course side, for a few pictures.

Slick seat! I had a Corbin lowered seat on a Sprint that was quite comfortable.

I was wondering if you'd mind describing some of the changes you requested from Corbin for you GTS seat? I'm trying to get my GTS setup for distances and I've found the seat to be the biggest barrier (the Airhawk has not been super effective in improving my comfort), becoming increasingly uncomfortable and wedgie-inducing over about an hour.. My measurements are not too far from yours—a skosh more inseam and height—and I've been thinking about going down to Hollister and rolling the dice. (The other plan would be sacrificing one of my seats to a local motorcycle seat shaper.)

No problem. I have been very happy with the GTS seat. I actually had it made for my 2012 GTS but kept it when I sold that Vespa. It fits perfectly on my 2020.

These are the modifications that were on the Corbin invoice. I also use the same wording when I ordered this one for the LX.

Special Services,
Push rider back 2 inches
Raise up front to eliminate from tilting forward
Shave down side of rider section only.

If you can get to the factory, that would be the ideal situation. I'm just a little too far away in Florida.

Thank you for the info! That should be really helpful.
Out of curiosity, part of your incantation is "shave down side of rider section only". Ergonomically speaking, what does that do for you? I've been having a little trouble pinpointing exactly what is bothering me about the GTS seats. The first two seem obvious to me, but that one I'm having a little trouble imaging.

I ordered a Corbin stock GTS seat once. The seat pocket was very narrow right to left and bothered my hips. By shaving the sides down, it gives a lot more sitting room. I believe the seat builders understand this.

The seat is still a bit wider than the stock Vespa seat. At a stop, I'm on my toes a bit but no big deal. It could be an issue for someone with shorter legs I guess. They can even make it narrower in needed.

Cheers—that's exactly the kind of explanation I was hoping for! Now to get a stiff drink and review Corbin pricing chart…

Thank you for entertaining my questions and enjoy your new seat!

I like the LX solo seat. it looks a bit like the Solo Seat Piaggio makes for the LX, but wider where you sit.
