Last summer while I was out riding with my wife on our 300 Vespas I noticed a slow but steady oil leak coming from my 2014 GTV. I check the oil level and it was still mostly full so we decided to proceed home. I checked a few more times and while it was dropping a bit, it never got dangerously low. We parked the GTV outback and I put repairing it on my to-do list. (I have another motorcycle so I didn't feel any urgent need to fix the Vespa) I finally got around to pulling the engine yesterday. Surprise surprise. It was just a leaky valve cover gasket. Two of the valve cover screws had somehow worked their way out removing the pressure on the gasket and causing the leak. I ordered two new valve cover screws and seals and a new gasket just to be safe. Hopefully I'll have the parts by next weekend and will be back on the road. A disaster averted.
