Wrestling with new Zumo XT2 - a lot of technology for this old man. Put in the nature trail on top of Green Mountain in Huntsville, Al as destination. Ride up was good for the most part. Liberty 150 was a bit slow to accelerate after slowing for the passing lane on steep slope.
Downhill not at all bad. Kept enough throttle to keep CVT engaged so not much braking needed.

Sounds a nice trip! I'm only on a 125cc but I've noticed a massive difference in speed up hill when slipstreaming a large vehicle. On the last mountain road I did, I actually pulled over and waited for a lorry / truck to go past before I set off!

There is a huge difference in top speed depending on conditions.

I hit 85mph (gps) on Rocket, my 2006 Vespa GT while gaining on a truck running downhill, downwind on day one of the 2014 Scooter Cannonball in British Columbia.

But riding that same scooter on I-70 upgrade to the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado, it topped out at 35 mph.
