Hi Everyone. My LX125 has started to behave oddly. Its been stood a couple of weeks and when I tried the electric start showed all the signs of a flat battery and would not start. Ignition lights very weak. Thing is the battery is quite new. Started OK with the kick start and ran it for around 10 miles. Tried to start again and the same thing. Fully charged the battery this morning (it was already pretty full) and again the same thing. Very weak lights on instrument panel. I also notice that when I turn the ignition on there is a low level "groaning" noise coming from the front panel of the scooter. Any suggestions please as to what the problem could be? Many thanks

Have you checked the voltage? Might also check connections.

Don't know how old "quite new" is, but batteries can go bad.

Don't know about the groaning.

Thanks for responding. Yes voltage is good and battery well connected. Battery less than a year old. Same voltage not getting through the instruments, lights, etc. I am wondering if its to do with the relay...

So voltage is at least 12.6?

I am not familiar with your scooter, but assuming we are sure the battery is good, if there are weak lights on the dash, agree it would seem either a relay, ignition switch or something like that is not working properly and may also cause the sound.

If you are not familiar, you can download manuals and wiring diagrams here:

Edit: agree with Tierney, get the battery load tested.

Get the battery load tested. Just because it's fairly new doesn't mean it's good to go.

Thanks for the information. I will check out the link. Battery is definitely good. Voltage in the 13s and I have swapped it for a spare and same thing happens.
