I recommend Everlast for budget welding machines. I have one and am very happy with it. It was recommended to me by a co-worker as a good choice for value machines.

I wanted something that would also weld aluminum and to buy a Miller or Lincoln that had the same capability was twice the price.
Just a little background I am an extensively certified welder for over 30 years, I am a union journeyman Ironworker, Piledriver, and Boilermaker. I spent the last few years of my career as a quality inspector in the construction of new power plants so high pressure steam as well as lots of structural welding.
Now that I am retired I am letting my certification as an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector go after having been an AWS CWI (08090581 you can look it up on the AWS website) since 2008.
