I've got a 1959 Lambretta Li that's been in pieces for the last 10 years. No rust, looks like it's all there.
The plan is to put it back together. I'll be looking for a repair manual and some exploded parts drawings

And these, which are worth shipping from the UK.

'58 was the last year of the LD, which is what you have. Just did one this summer. What a trip ! If you're on FB, the "Lambretta Shaft Riders Page", the "Lambretta-D/LD-Projects ", and "Lambretta LD Owners Group" are good for help and info.

LD motors are very complex. I would recommend getting in touch with Michael Jarema, he is a LD guru. He is on Facebook.

Not planning to invest a bunch of money in this 1959 Lambretta LD, it's been sitting for many years and for whatever reason nobody seems to want them.
That being said, I have enjoyed putting this old scooter back together. |

LD is a shaft driven engine, its an entirely different beast to the chain driven models.
I had an LD150 MK3, it had sat for 20 years and started 2nd kick after releasing piston, standing seize. Relatively simple engine to get head around really accept dont go thinking you can tune them with kitting. Love it for what it is when you get it all together, it will potter happily at 45mph all day long. Anymore power put on it and the shafts snap; believe me in the early 80s we all had a go at souping up an LD, all in failure. |

I haven't messed with the motor, I put it back together for a buddy because I enjoy wrenching. I don't own it. I think he paid $600 for it 15 years ago.
