The pair shook hands before leaving the hospitality unit separately, with Verstappen senior heading to the paddock while Horner returned to his evening post-race duties.

With Verstappen having publicly called for Horner's removal via the media, PlanetF1.com understands the Dutch former driver will remain a welcome guest of the team in Saudi Arabia and throughout the season.

Jos has also been muted to have sent the emails, but also made a statement that if Horner stays his son Max will leave Red Bull.

Sainz to Mercedes Benz makes a lot of sense especially to Audi.

I think it's entirely possible there is something to that -- if nothing else, Jos appears to be capitalizing on the crisis, if not actually directly instigating it.

The question is, to what end? What's the goal? It's not like Red Bull Racing, were they to find themselves without a team principal, are going to say "Hey Jos, maybe you want the job"?

I totally agree because lets face it Christian's management style has been fairly successful so far hasn't it.

I'd suggest that Jos thinks that he simply knows better and CH is standing in his way from getting his own way.

Another curious thing was looking at the qualifying comparison between Max and Charles - cornering speeds were very similar with them both. Max made his advantage with a higher top speed, and Charles advantage was in the braking zones. Then Charles had a 100c temperature difference across his front two tyres during the race (visor tear off maybe?).

When someone is accused of icky sexual misconduct, you tend to believe or disbelieve it based on your overall impression of that person, so when it's Christian Horner, as intelligent and capable as he is, I kind of go, "Yeah, I could see that." If it were Toto Wolff I'd be more likely to think, "That's surprising, I'd like to see some evidence before buying into that one." If it were Otmar Szafnauer I'd probably go, "Hmmm…really? I don't think so."

Try this, Toto won't have Jos and Max and all their bullshit at Mercedes Benz.

If he signs Sainz and he drives for Audi in 2025 he'll take all that knowledge with him.

When all I see is Jos making statements in the Press and talking to anyone and everyone while flapping his hands then Christian remaining cool and collective because he knows he has the upper ground, I think I know who the bad apple is.

Buggsy, It's an interesting observation that you make about my viewpoint but I think it's a little unfair and over simplistic.

I'm a cynic by nature and I'm of the belief that what we are often being told is a subjective truth which will often cloak an agenda.

It's more the motive that interests me rather than the hook line or the headline.

Now what I believe we are witnessing is something very personal rather than something performance related to the team and the individual doing all the damage is so dailed in to their cause that they don't think anyone else can see it for what it is.
