With Verstappen and Perez lining up P1 and P2 for today's Japanese GP, Here's my predictions:
Perez, feeling his oats, makes a late lunge on turn 2 right after the start and takes out both himself and Verstappen, giving Red Bull a double DNF. Norris then leads the race until the last couple of laps, when Sainz finally makes it past and takes the checkered flag. Wait, this is 1-800-F1FNTASY I'm talking to, right? Right?!? |

Reluctantly I have to agree with you Jess.
I'm pretty certain that this will be the last that we'll see of him in F1 also. It's OK as he can now enjoy all that money that Renault paid him. |

Ricciardo out, 🤔Mmmm Liam Lawson In.
Perez out, Sainz in and would race against Verstappen, he likes challenge. And at the moment who worth their salt would want a seat in a Merc, not Alonso he laughed at them today. Also don't think Hamilton will do it at Ferrari, he will want to do things his way, they always do things their way, they cock up constantly on strategy and Lewis wont like that he will chuck his toys out the pram and retire. Sargeant banished, no team with a cheque book big enough for his repair bills, but he's brave backing his car on to a live track. Roll on 2026 ![]() |

Red Bull in its current state yes but look at what they could lose in the next few years.
Horner, Newey and they are losing their power units to Aston Martin and all the time that Verstappen is there you'll always be the second driver. Ford have a funny habit or ruining the soup when they take something over. Jaguar F1 being an excellent example. And remember they are bringing a power unit of their own. It's not as rosey as it looks. He won't go but Albon would be a better bet. |

Yes, They bought it from Stewart and got rid of all the good people because their faces didn't fit and then squandered loads of money during the process of failing and which is why I'm not convinced that Ford joining Red Bull is a good thing.
Remember that Red Bull and Porsche couldn't agree to terms as Porsche wanted to have more say in the team and Red Bull just wanted an engine, so I'd like to know if Ford are happy to just give them units and be more hands off. Also Farley was kicking off when the whole Horner thing hit the fan because RB were doing their very best to keep it in house. That was kind of weird when I'd rather have kept myself out of the headlines rather than make it worse. I'll predict that you won't hear anything more about the incident until the season is over and then when it's contract time things could get ugly but with one exception. If the suspended employee decides to go rouge then everyone loses. Oh, I also wish that Ralf Schumacher would keep his mouth shut because he doesn't know anything but always opens his mouth. |

If the rumours are true them Sainz has a job lined up at Audi so whoever takes him on will only have him for a season.
Alonso can't have that many years left in him so he's sort of in the same situation. My feeling is that Alonso will be more likely racing the Valkyrie when he gives up F1 because he's loved at Aston Martin for obvious reasons. I agree that the dream of having Hamilton at Ferrari isn't going to be a good one because of Ferrari's habit of scuppering their chances to win races and once again, how much longer will Lewis race for ? I still can't see Verstappen at Mercedes Benz just because it's so Corporate compared to Red Bull and of course Jos would be sticking his nose in every 5 minutes. Having said that every team has their time and Red Bull's run could be over so........ |

Right now Red Bull have the Top Driver, Designer, Power Unit and you could argue the Top Team Principal, so if you take one of those elements away it could all start to fall apart. A boy can dream I guess.
I'm going to suggest that Ford could be joining forces at exactly the wrong time. You could also argue that Hamilton could unify Ferrari in the way that Schumacher did and it could all go their way but I think that I'm stretching it a bit. Something puzzles me about Porsche and Audi being in F1 and that's that the Power Unit's are stupidly expensive to develop so why didn't Porsche take over Sauber because they already had a unit bench tested ? Wouldn't it cost as much again to develop another unit when you already had one when VW owns both marques anyway so what gives ? I'd suggest that you wouldn't design a unit if you didn't have a team lined up to work with so do you just write that investment off when negotiations break down ? |

Yes, I totally agree. He knew that he couldn't defend his title legitimately and so he did a runner, but since then he can't seem to keep his melodramatic face off the TV.
He seems desperate in a way that David Coulthard doesn't. |

I think that many a F1 Champion was flawed and Hamilton is no different but you can't ignore he's still one of the fastest drivers out there when the car is good.
Great for PR and Marketing also. However, Mercedes are on the decline and he's obviously going through the motions until he collects his pension in 2025. He has his eyes on the prize
