Stale driver. I wish the teams would bring more rookies into the fold.

It would be interesting to see FOM pay the teams a substantial bonus for bringing in new drivers -- like a couple million Euros. That might make the teams a bit less risk-averse.

That'd be a new one "Box, Box, you're about to go under weight!"

I feel it's a bit unfair to penalise him if that *is* the case.

Bottas is just collecting a paycheck. While he would like to be in a competitive car its not in the cards as he is on the downside of his driving time.

Apparently two down to cords using the one stop strat and under fueling again due to being in front

He's failed to progress as a driver, just as Zho, Bottas, Gasly, and Perez have failed to progress. So I say begone with all of them.

I might throw Ricciardo on that bonfire, too. At least he's funny and charismatic.

Speaking of demolition derby, apparently stock cars don't have actual brakes? Or maybe the goofs driving them are just unaware of how to brake for a turn.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actually, I have a better theory: taking a cue from the Empire in Star Wars, NASCAR drivers are all clones of Lance Stroll.

Its a mix of :
Oval specialised chasis development
Having mainly oval based race calendar
Nascar / stock car drivers not being the shapest tool in shed compared to other disciplines
Stockcar / Nascar racing having a more aggressive and bumpy race culture
Nascar's governing body being kinda of cheapstake both in tought and cash

we can list a lot of reasons but this is what makes nascar nascar so meh wadagonado ?

Extends the braking distance which leads to more overtaking.

I think in the instance above they just aren't used to using them.

Why not just outlaw brakes entirely, then? Wouldn't that be more entertaining?

Or maybe they're not actually race car drivers in any meaningful sense of the term.

I'm not a big fan of primitive. It's right there in the title of this website.

I think that Antonelli will be driving for Mercedes Benz in 2025 and Mr Happy will join them in 2026.

Red Bull's fortunes will decline in the second half of this year but Max will still win the Drivers Championship.

Several blogs reporting this.

Stroll has made key signings including Enrico Cardile from Ferrari as the team's Chief Technical Officer from 2025 and beating almost every team on the grid to Andy Cowell, Mercedes' former engine boss. He'll take up his position as Group Chief Executive Officer in October.

But according to AutoSprint Stroll is by no means done.
Setting his sights on Red Bull's soon-to-be-former design genius, Auto Motor und Sport reported Stroll told Aston Martin staff to leave the premises so that he could give Newey a private tour of the team's state-of-the-art facilities.

Although the Canadian businessman wanted to avoid any leaks, it didn't take long for news of the tour to reach the media.

But it seems it has paid off for Aston Martin and Stroll with Newey reportedly accepting a $100 million deal to join the team with confirmation expected in September.
