That made me laugh.
Both him and Stroll don't deserve to be in F1. Bottas also. Move along.

Lots of talk of Perez announcing his retirement at the Mexican Grand Prix.
We've heard this before so it's probably wishful thinking. Make a wish kids. |

Liam Lawson only has a deal that lasts to the end of the season.
We all know that he'll get re-signed in 2025 but right now it's only the remaining races that have been agreed. There's talk of an Ambassadors role for Ricciardo at Red Bull. |

I had a hoot and a half catching up Sunday night I'm relatively new to it all, but so many assumptions about how things "are" got turned on their heads and really kept things exciting pretty much all the way through for me--from karma and actual stewarding to some of the rest-of-the-rest getting restless and some racing.
I'm now looking forward to Leclerc taking #2 from Norris and Ferrari taking #1 from McLaren. While I was excited for Norris against Verstappen, anything short of an utter disaster for the next few races is probably going to prevent that from going any farther. Poking around, trying to find some graphs, I ran across https://www.formula1points.com (poor Hulkenberg https://www.formula1points.com/outliers/points-no-podium ). Where do people go to get supplementary info, if any? |

He points out that objectively seen Max is seriously handicapped by being not being English language area bred. Both with the press and race stewards. The lollipopman comics about the season are a lót sharper than general UK journalism. Regardless we imo will see a weird season next year with the cars remaining pretty much as per this year plus winter tweaks. Maybe almost as much sporting fun as MotoGP! Teams will be developing 2026 cars from the start of the season. Combine that with McLaren being the only team with drivers continuity but with a more than serious team order issue. Even in the doubtful scenario that Max would win again it will need real positive news about engine development for him nót to follow Honda and Newey. Ah and fingers x-ed that Hamilton does not make a bigger fool of himself than this year. Being expected to be a Ferrari driver is not the same as a star driving a star. ⚠️ Last edited by Petrus on UTC; edited 1 time

all about hedging bets: Bottas is signed up as safety net under Antonelli with Kimi being signed up also to prevent others doing that.

I think there is a lot of difference, Kimi doesn't have to worry about being replaced by Bottas, Doohan has to be very fast to keep his seat

My highly personal take in the start of ´25.
Two races into 2025 season and apart from McLaren it is more diffuse than usual. Well, ánd apart from Verstappen´s brilliant driving. About McLaren it is not a done deal who will lead the charge. Even though Norris outscored Piastri, I thought the latter the better rácer. Going to be fun that. The law of the ´remmende voorsprong´ (don´t know the correct term in English) is usually an equaliser but with ´26 rules at the horizon it is an open question how much the competitors will spend on that. At Ferrari basically nothing changed, all as usual. With this I mean that the drivers are just that and the team results are governed by the wondrous strategical decisions. Imo they coúld win both the championships; they have the drivers and the tech but they keep scuppering their own chances. It is a lot of points lost already. And then Red Bull. They shoúld be able to provide Max with a competetive car but any money spent on that makes their 2026 challenge even larger. Winning 2024 drivers crown was tótally down to the driver and the result akin to that of Honda MotoGP with Marc Marquez. Nobody understood the politics with Perez last year and Lawson seems to be wórse. They too have lost points and this time drivers error.* On the one hand it is only two races, one of which was atypicsl but last weekend? Why on éarth didn´t they swap Yuki for Perez last year?! Maybe Helmut Marko is not doing the team a power of good any more. Lastly Williams. Two véry good drivers but .... Again cannot see the team spending big on the ´25. Yet the green Audis are wáy worse, vindictaing poor Sainz somewhat. * a caveat with that is that Oz was almost unfair on the rookies and imo both Bull teams should have given theirs more of a fighting chance with a more conservative tyre choice, maybe even turned down e-turbo response. Anyway, for China will we see Yuki with RedBull? I hope we do. The bloke deserves it imo. They could always swap the drivers around again anywhichway. |

I wouldn't be surprised if RB decide to swap their drivers around for Japan because lets face it, they played the long game with Checco and it didn't pay off.
I doubt that they want to make the same mistake again. Talking of excellence, Stroll has been keeping his nose clean recently. Worth a mention. |
