I also would like to point out that having one team (and one driver) dominate the sport so completely is ultimately bad for the sport. Nobody wants to watch the same guy win over and over again effortlessly.
The reality is that each year in F1 has almost always been dominated by one team, and usually one driver on that team.
Looking back since 1970 it was Lotus, McLaren or Ferrari with McLaren and Williams dominating the 1980's and 1990's.
Ferrari took over in the late 1990's with Michael Schumacher, then Renault for a two years with Alonso until Vettel and Red Bull dominated.
Mercedes with Hamilton (Nico Rossberg getting one) and now back to Red Bull.
My favorite years were Senna vs Prost with each race feeling like a heavyweight boxing championship.
I enjoyed 2021 with Hamilton vs Verstappen. I was happy to see the dominant Mercedes finally taken down (driver's championship anyway). Lewis got screwed in the finale, but I was pulling for Max.
The rules of the sport, where each team has to build their own chassis, and some their engines, will always have one team getting it better than everyone else. That dominant team usually has Adrian Newey on board.
This year, the combination of Newey and Max was the most dominant ever.
I am hoping that Ferrari can get closer next year and give Max some competition in the races.
