I've never really understood the reason for their existence, apart from the prestige factor of owning the more expensive scoot when you're limited to the smaller capacities for local reasons.
With the larger frame are they still slower despite the extra power?

They're much better suited for 2 riders than the small frames, but in England at least - most ride 125's on a 1 day training course and can only carry a pillion with a full licence (by which point, they tend to get the bigger 300cc).

Storage is better on the larger GTS though, and the extra 1-2hp tends to even up with the extra weight - so very similar performance to the small frame. Just handling is a bit different.
