Got to see this bike in person and it is all the sexy. (Ned talked at one point about keeping it on 8's and I might have shed a wee tear of joy.)

Also, got to gawk at Unicorn in person. Truly amazing work.

A huge thanks for the shop tour and lunch. And mondo thanks Greasy for the scoop and the hangs.

If you've ever wondered how NSMV managed to find a couple adults to help moderate, ponder no more.
They haven't.
🙂.

They did however find a couple o awesome dudes - who go by Greasy and Birdsnest - to keep us in order.

Tacos and beers were had.
Thanks for rolling by!

I don't think the camera was doing any weirdness, honestly that's about what I look like most of the time.

CM, it was absolutely awesome to hang and check out the shop-- so much room for activities! the work that you've put into making it a functioning space is just flat out awesome.

seeing the unicorn in person was awesome. so much attention to detail! and the new addition to the herd looked right at home on the rug, man! can't wait to see what you do with that widebody!

tacos and beers with birbs and CM was absolutely the highlight of the weekend!

thanks for accommodating us and to birbs for setting the whole thing in action!

I'm getting g soft.
If I had a hair on my gear box, I would have only posted the picture of Greasy's truck bed contents and titled it "caption. Contest" or "explain this".

Awesome afternoon and good laughs in the Socal sunshine - and just as we were saying our goodbyes - I saw this:

I welcome all captions, photo-chops of and commentary on: The Original Scooty Puff Jr.

the ramp is a folding unit I picked up from parts unlimited/drag specialties probably 20years ago. it works awesome and I've only pinched myself and drawn blood like, twice. the chair is a hold over from when I had my ram and the tailgate was much higher and I needed the step up to push a bike in. now I still use it because these knees and back ain't gettin' no younger (shush up! it's the mileage not the model year!). the cooler is self explanatory, I gotta keep them topo Chicos cool! also, it leaks, thus it stays in the bed.

you can't see, but there's a wood block/wheel chock in front of the ramp, and it all nests together so once strapped down nothing flies out or bangs around.

I need to tint the windows. oh, and install a radio.

Well done! That must have took some finding. Stolen CM2's idea with the adapter plate.
That is indeed an M1XL 172 (long stroke like my 181 no doubt). With an expansion and correct set up it's 26bhp minimum.

Jack, these are GS150's cases- 4 cylinder stud cases. The conversion has been done many time before. With original Piaggio cases, you do have to relocate the cylinder studs.

The OP has 3 cylinder stud cases; basically every wide body case made outside the GS range. It would take an extensive amount of welding, mill work, and stud relocation to get this done. If you really want to run a cylinder induction cylinder, best to to buy a new set of 4 stud Pinasco cases. Then you can run all types of cylinders from case induction to cylinder induction.

now my opinion, it's all cool and yes, you can develop a lot of power from this exotic converison . Is it necessary? no, not at all. Pinasco and CC Corsa have it all figured out with their 3 stud cylinders. Plenty of power with 55 mph cruising and speeds well into the 60's.

For future reference, what's the clue that these cases are GS150?

I would be fairly sure CM2 could get a 4 stud cylinder on a 3 stud case. And being told it was difficult would only help get it done well.

I like to be able to cruise at the speed I like. Keeping up with traffic is the safest way to travel. The quattrini on mine will sit in 4th gear cruising up and down hill all day long. If the need arrises it can go considerably faster than safe.
Not sure if it's a bit strong for 8 inch brakes but pulling an airstream sidecar at 70mph is going to need a big hitter.

That was pretty much my thought, too! He's probably already working on what will be required and how he'll need to program Kitt to make it happen.

Wideframe engines never came in 4 stud configurations right? (Honest question…)

You can see the 2 studs sticking out of the cranks case I posted. I think the guys engine whos it is, is planning to install it into a GS.

Could you install a GS engine in a wideframe without modification? Or no one does that?

You could install a GS150 engine into a non GS chassis. But honestly, I would just buy a set of Pinasco Super Slave cases and build it with any modern small block cylinder available in the market. You will be 1000 miles ahead of yourself with this approach.

Got you… makes sense. Any idea what stud pattern is on the pinasco cases?

Saw this and thought of this thread…

3 stud to 4 stud smallframe conversion.

Guy is in Denmark and added a egig170 onto a wideframe.
3 to 4 stud conversion… not for the average hobbyist

I've seen it. He had to relocate the studs.

They say it fits any PX125/150 compatible cylinder, and more via a supplied adapter. Quite a cool concept!

Oh Man U guys.
I've been delinquent.
So much to appreciate here.

J Gick - appreciate the no bullshit road to victory suggestion of the pinasco cases.

Ginch and 108 - love the possibilities.

Ray! What a beauty that one is. I'm not sure I've ever seen an Allstate branded original like that. Great curves. Unfortunately, price is… enough to make me want an English wheel. 🙂.

Sucha beautiful example. How cool would it be to have a. Original handlebar with that on its side?!?

I've been in a rabbit hole, wrapped in an enigma, buried in a time warp.
Lemme post a few of the goings on over on my shop thread.
