Had mine for two months now.
1. tightened up the play in the throttle cable. 2. Fitted mirrors with longer stems so I could see behind me. 3. Painted transmission cover and exhaust heat shield black. Not necessary in your case. 4. Installed 12 gram rollers in the variator for slightly higher revs and a liittle more torque. 5. Removed side reflectors and plugged the holes. Your scooter doesn't appear to have any. 6. Redesigned the rear number plate layout. I would only fit an Akra for a better sound. I have one lying about in the shed which I will try out some day, if it fits. The new suspension is much better, and I will wait for others to report on what improvements, if any, can be achieved. Brakes are good, but I might fit Brembo or Frando calipers when I feel rich again. Had them on my previous GTSs, and they were a bit better. |

I am pleased with mine the way it came off of the assembly line in Pontedera.
The only changes were to make it more suitable for long rides so it got a mid-narrow windshield and an older GTS rear rack. Then I rode it across the country in the SCR. Except for the small gas tank, it was perfect. Bill ![]()

The suspension and brakes are already spectacularly better on the 2023s than previous iterations. I would get a few hundred miles under your belt at least with it before deciding to change stuff up there spending lots of needless money.
Exhaust is entirely in the ear of the beholder. I was just pontificating on that riding in to work this morning--should I? A louder exhaust DOES make you more noticeable to those around you, one more line of defense in the sea of "why should i look before merging, that takes up to four whole seconds of my life!" idiots.....but it's also louder all the time which you may or may not want when, say, leaving when it's dark and trying to be a good neighbor. I'd say spend at least until the break-in service just riding it as-is and deciding what you don't like, if anything, and change that first. |

first ride it a quick 10,000 miles, then make any mods needed----I am speaking from over 75 new bikes/scooters since 1955.

Congrats on your purchase. I just rolled over 1500kms on my 2023 Verde Amabile GTS. It's already one of my favourite vehicles!
So far I have added a rear rack, 30L Givi top box, removed the ugly front reflectors (plugged with color matched plugs from scooterwest) and added an oil sight glass cover during the 1000km break in service (also from scooterwest). I had the tech adjust the excessive throttle play as well. I find the lighting and drivetrain to be excellent as is for now. I'll be adding a euro5 exhaust this winter since it sounds like a vacuum cleaner compared to my motorcycles. |

Shorter mirrors, if you frequently ride through tight situations.

darren39,
If you are riding at low speeds in an urban area a windscreen may not be necessary. But I really like my medium height Vespa windscreen. Then I installed chrome vespa racks front and back. I know many like to modify their Vespas. I am kind of a stock guy and leave shocks and brakes original. Oh, I put on a seat cover from the company Cheeky Seats. Bob Copeland ![]() |

Thanks! Yes I'm definitely a lurker I mostly just use the search function so I never needed to post I guess.
I joined in 2017 after purchasing my first Vespa, a 2008 LX150. I sold it for a new 2018 Primavera 150 a year later. My fiancé loves riding with me so I added the GTS300 to the garage this summer to take her further and it ended up being my favourite two wheeler Sorry to derail your thread!
