What caught my eye in this news item was Piaggio patents VVT for what seems to be GTS300 engine. Good idea?

I can just see it now. 1000 mile valve adjustments that make adjusting Ducati desmo valves look easy. I love my GT200 more and more every day.

Has there been any more news of this?
Do you think it might make it into the 125/150 class engines?
Robot mentioned something about the 2023 being the last year for the Primavera and Sprint as they are now. Do you all think they are going to put a VVT engine in a new iteration of the Primavera/Sprint? Or do you think this is only going to be for the 278cc engine?

Due to power limits for driving licenses valid in Europe (max 125ccm with max. 15hp/11kw) the engines will never get more power, they would simply be unsaleable (another driving license would be needed). Since the 150cc engine (155cc) is based on the 125cc, nothing will change in terms of VVT for the above reasons. (Note: these engines are air cooled).

In the patent, the VVT is described on the basis of an engine that is installed in a GTS (liquid cooling). See pictures in the patent (or newspaper article). I am not an expert, but there is talk in the German forum that the engine pictured is also different from the current 278cc engine. Can anyone confirm or specify/compare this in more detail?

The patent talks about better durability and greater efficiency (not extra power).
