I have been trying to fit some new steering race to my Px, the bottom one has a gap in between the inside tube and the race, does it seem normal to you ?

Thanks

Did the new one look like the old one? And is the new one seated all the way in? If it can't go in any further it should be fine.

Looks the same as my P125X. Here is a pic of mine before I removed it. You can see the gap which allowed me to get the removal punch behind the race to punch it out.

Maybe I should take it of, freeze it and then try again |

Get a bit of wire and poke it under, if it's seated properly then the wire won't go all of the way behind it.
I've just done the same job on a GL and after tapping it in there was still a gap behind it, I had to use the threaded bar method to pull it fully into place. |

No problem! Good luck with the larger threaded rod. I think once the race is properly seated you will have a gap like in my picture. I bit the bullet and bought a fork bearing race installation tool. Nothing like having the right tool for the job!
