Sooooo this past weekend I went up to Ogden Ut to celebrate the 30 year anniversary of my club. One of the folk that attended was the young lady I sold my smallframe to about 15 years ago. Well she wants it gone and who am I to say no to rescuing a fun little bike! Edith has had a tough life it seems. Evidently storage was outside and maintenance was lacking. She fired 3rd kick and was still decently fast......until the idle started to climb rapidly. Figure seals.

She started life as a 1980 (I think) 90 and that was built to ASRA racing. That never happened but she was a hoot on the street until her carb would fall off almost every ride.

If I remember correctly when I built her all those years ago:

ET3 125 engine 4 speed tastyness
Malossi 133 (?) top end
PM exhaust
Some kind of carb

So now I need a plan to bring her back. Technology has advanced sooooo much and was wondering what ya'll thought.

I'd keep it old school and rock it as is, but that's me.

Agreed. it already looks like it's going fast while it's standing still.

Definitely a possibility, but with allllllllll the rust and broken plastic parts, a full teardown is gunna have to happen. I mean, the red lens on the taillight looks like if you breathe hard next to it, it'll fall apart!

the picture implied better, but you did describe it....

yeah but you can still rock the old school engine build so long as it's not waterlogged.

I definitely think I'll keep the same attitude she has now. Just some upgrades as far suspension, engine, and electronics. I mean I do love a toggle switch for on/off but a nifty high speed ignition may be in the cards. Oh and I think I want some sort of in the legshield storage too.

Who knows what direction this bike will go, but I think it'll be a fun project to do again.

Treat the rust, seal the rust, service engine, put on some decent tyres (or tires in the US), tart up the fixtures and fittings, shocks etc and keep that old skool patina. I like it, can we have some colour photos?

I'll get some color pics up here shortly.

Oh definitely tires and engine check out! I'm on the fence about how nice or not nice to make her. I do think I'll probably keep her a bit ratty appearance though. Kinda a fast beater.
