Is there any way of seeing quickly which valve system my scoot has been set up with without stripping off the carb. Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. Just this is the first I'd even heard of reed valves on a PX in the last day or so….Thanks!

The reed valve set-ups will have the carb box on top of a reed block with the reed block on top of the cases. The rotary set-ups have the carb box directly on top of the cases. If you look at the carb box from the back end, maybe with a flashlight, you can probably see if there is a reed block sandwiched between the cases and the carb box.

Or just take off the carb box top, take off the air filter, look down the carb throat while opening the throttle the whole way. You will see a metal crank shaft or you will see a plastic or metal reed, depending.
