Hi guys,

Just took delivery of my Vespa Elettrica L3 70km/h and I just have a question for anyone else who might have the same kind of scooter:
Does yours make a very high pitched whining noise between 50km/h and 60km/h? It stops after 60km/h.. I will try and make a video recording of this.

Should I be worried?

Thanks!

Hi

I haven't noticed this I'm afraid. I get a quiet high pitched hum when the ignition is first switched on, which is constant regardless of speed (or no speed!). My dealer told me it is the invertor, and nothing to be concerned about.

I'd get hold of your dealer and ask what is going on with yours.

Hope you get it sorted. I love my Eletteica!

Thanks tokenwelshman!

Will record it first, post it here so you know exactly what I'm talking about and get in touch with the Vespa people. I love this little thing as well, want to keep it running tip top. =)

Unscrew the dipstick at the back and check the gearbox fluid isn't too low (or overfilled).

I believe this is also changed at the first 620 mile / 1000km service.

Hi everyone,

Back with the video update:

https://youtube.com/shorts/JnWfH1wBtnw?si=K9q7EjUNrH4n8oSP

Anyone have any ideas? Or am I just being paranoid and this whining noise is normal? You can only hear it from ~ 47 km/h to 57km/h

Thank you!

That seems like the normal Elettrica sound to me, but do check the dipstick level as quite often this can be overfilled.

I believe the motor is brushless and maintenance free, so the only power unit servicing items are a one time gearbox oil change, and then software updates

Just checked the dipstick level, it's only up to the red line. Seems okay.

That's the perfect level! The other notches are for other Vespas.
