I accidentally let my battery run dead. I have charged it with a 12v charger for a few hours.

Vespa won't start. Lights work, I get a slight wirrr on ignition. No kick.

Multimeter readings are inconsistent - 4v then 8v then 12v, back to 8v

Is the battery toast?

I don't know what kind of charger you have but I've had trickle chargers take up to 24 hours to recharge a completely dead battery.

May have to replace the battery. I had to replace the battery that came with my 2023 GTS Super Sport. I left the switch on accidentally and it said 9v when I discovered it. Had to wait for a friend with jump pack. While waiting it dropped further. Wouldn't charge either. I was on a trip and ended up putting in a new battery. No problems since replacing it but I've heard of 2-3 others that had their original batters die within a couple months of getting the scooter (mine was at 6 weeks). I think Piaggio got some bad batteries.

Crap batteries, crap fuel pumps. I think the relevant Inventory Manager needs a good kick up the backside.
