Hey Everyone,

I'm looking at a Primavera 150 and the seat is too high for me (I'm 4'11 1/2") Anyone have experience with lowering their vespa with a lowering link and/or shaving the seat down? I thought they used to have low profile seats and apparently not anymore.

Have you been looking at the GTS or the Sprint / Primavera?

It is possible to buy a small metal part that lowers the Vespa itself.

Have you tried sitting on one so far? The further forward you sit, the easier it is to put your feet flat on the ground.

I just did this to my BV250. I was after more comfort, but ended up dropping the front seat height by almost 2"

I am 4'11" and I bought a pair of demonia brand platform boots (3") which helped a lot. I read mixed messages when shopping for a scooter about lowering options.

I bought a used GT200, so it feels like a lot of scooter on top of being tall.

My partner is in the lower five, but has a relatively short inseam, so her experience might be of use to you.

I had a Sprint 150 with, first, just a lowering link. Once the electrical issues it caused were sorted, it served well enough, but had a noticeably rougher ride for obvious reasons. While higher heeled shoes and thicker soles made a difference, it was still too high for her to feel fully comfortable.

I lucked into buying a Corbin lowered seat and that helped a lot more with making contact with the ground and being comfortable at stops. They can be pricey, but worth it if it suits you. Also, it was a more comfortable seat than stock overall and I preferred it for longer rides (although I would prefer sitting on the pillion seat on stock for short rides).

Overall, both were needed to make it work. If I had to choose just one, I'd start with the seat mod as it's more comfortable anyways and the shape and forward bias to the curve of the seat had other benefits for making contact with the ground.
A lucky shot in profile during a turn.

Hi Everybody, Your replies are super helpful! I am new here and not sure how to reply individually and wanted to thank everyone for sharing their ideas, links, and experience with this.

I am looking at the Primavera 150. I'll look into the riding boots and shaving the seat first based on the replies. Then worst case scenario, I can get the lowering link installed.

And yeah my inseam is 24" so all your tips really help. Thank you! 😊

This was some time ago and I didn't do the work myself, so I can't really answer definitively as to what happened. From memory, the way they routed the wiring after getting in there ended up getting pinched or jarred, eventually leading to the rear lights going out. Apparently obvious after the fact and they routed differently, but a thing that happened as a consequence of the change that had to be sorted, oops or not.

No problem. There is a "quote" button hiding in the upper-right corner of each post. It's gray on gray, so kind of blends into the background. Press that and it will copy the post into a reply (with quote tags applied). You can then delete the bits of their post that aren't germane to the conversation, add your reply below the ending quote tag, and bob's your uncle.
