Got the scooter back together and running good -and after the first test rides, it started blowing fuses. found some loose connections in the horn and headset. the horn switch wires were also torn where the headset meets the frame, so had to replace those.

Logged 15 test miles and then decided to put it to the test in the pouring rain at the Oregon 100 rally. In the first half, the batwing was getting hung up on the cover and wouldn't shift into 4th so I was stuck in 3rd burning more oil than expected. Ditched the selector cover and another rider donated some oil (thank you!) and was good to go. Overall the scooter performed awesome up to the halfway point -And then wouldn't run right after the hour lunch stop. I think it was some kind of ignition issue related to all the water. Still need to figure out what's going on.

First half of the ride was epic with around 40 vintage scooters rolling through the willamette countryside in a total downpour. Connected with Macgerk, QAScooter, and met lots of other folks too. Saw some seriously cool scooters! The event was really well organized and they had my p2 (and another scoot that wouldn't start) on the support truck within 10 minutes after the group left for the second half.

Overall felt like a huge win to be out there riding a machine that was in pieces on my work bench a couple months back.

Somewhere in it's life my scooter was upgraded from a sealed beam to a PX style halogen lamp. Is there a preferred way to wire in the little 'safety' running light that is part of the headlight assembly?

Should it be always on? or only on when the scooter is not running? thanks
