My dad was fixing the release mechanism and after lubricating it under the seat he thinks he's not reconnected the cable and now it's stuck shut.

Any ideas or tricks to get it open? Trying to avoid peeling the seat cover off.

Cheers

If you ease the seat up with your fingers as not to put to much pressure on the keep, enough to see the location of the catch you should be able to flick it open with an electrical screwdriver, hooked welding rod, wire coat hanger or similar also a torch maybe handy to see where you need to hook the catch.
