I want to check the valve clearances on my BV350 - and if I need to adjust I don't want to order online and wait a week+

Wondering if other makes use the same diameter shims, but can't find that number.
This post: https://modernvespa.com/forum/post2146731#2146731 suggests that it's 9.5mm, which is hard to get. But maybe it's just not measured correctly.

A bunch of Honda and other motorcycles/atvs seem to use 9.48mm shims.
If these work for the BV350, then I could stop by a local dealer, or get them on Amazon with 1-day shipping.

Does anybody know?

I forgot. Might want to buy an extra plastic retainer. If you break it, you're waiting for parts again.

Good idea with the retainer.

As for the shim: The same shim size fits all BV350s to 2021 and apparently even the BV400 ...as concluded from the parts page https://www.af1racing.com/CM163204-CALIBRATED-PAD--SP--2-55---CM163204

Hi Emil.
The 9.48 is just fine to use. I did this 700 k's ago at 20,000 k's. definitely was required on one inlet and one exhaust.
Difference between 9.48 and 9.5 is negligible, and is not the critical dimension.

First post. But been lurking for a while. Thought I could offer something useful for the first time.

Have since sold the BV and bought a 2023 GTS.

Just to clarify - the shims I took out measured 9.48. I did buy the bike second hand I think the shims were original, but I have no way of knowing for sure.

When I bought the shims 9.5 wasn't a nomitated option - and there was no .5 option for any of the shim diameters. They were all specified .02mm down from the whole number or whole number plus 0.5.
