Hi All,

I am looking at buying this Vespa VBC Super locally in Singapore and notice that it doesn't have the two screws on the mudguard which should be there.

Anyone have any idea why that might be the case? And whether there might be potential problems? I gave the mudguard a bit of a shake when I was testing it to check if it is loose. Seems fine to me.

Thank you!

Firstly, welcome & happy you asked before buying.

Secondly, the 2 screws are funky, domed flat-head screws, and not real common.

Thirdly, it doesn't look like a VBC Super front guard! More like a VBB Bodge

Fourthly, how about some more pics, as from what I see it's rather bodgy!
Fifth... where the hell is the SEAM of the horncast?
Even most bodges still have them!

Don't buy this whatever it is!

I'm not an expert but the plugs in front board are also different.

Spring, shock and fork all painted blue is interesting, not to mention the cable painted in situ as well

Bet you will find some painted roadkill on it!

They didn't even take the time to bend the tabs that hold the cover on!

yeah, I'd be looking elsewhere on that.

it's absolutely slathered in bondo and somebody didn't have the skill, time or regard to disassemble the front end before spraying it.

hard pass from me.

And my personal pet peeve, pop rivets on the floor rails, even the visible ones at the front.

I too have a Singapore Super bodge. Has VBB front guard and side panels, lots of bog/bondo, paint sprayed over everything and I even a coke can shim under the head to complete the deal. Also have the horn cover blended into the body. Apart from that it's a great scoot Apparently it's not possible to import vehicles into Singapore so they have their own home grown bodginess. I guess all parts come in from Vietnam. I got mine for free so I have nothing to lose. Pulled and stripped the engine with plans to restore but have lost interest and am waiting for inspiration to hit me so I can get back into it. Not going to touch the body as it's probably not worth it. Going to go 10" conversion and disc brake, seals and bearings and putt around. Maybe a kit one day.

VespaCrosse?
The Mille?
Paddock Bashing at the Next NSW Rally (2024?), at it's too far to take to Perth & their last rally was more about Latte's that tomfoolery & I got kicked out of party/dance night for "being too drunk"

You should have ridden your scoot into the dance party and done some circle work like in the good old days. I just got back from the Moto Guzzi rally. No bullshit like that there. One guy was celebrating his 60th birthday. He decided to drink a beer for every year of his life over the weekend. 30 cans on Friday, another 30 on Saturday. Legend Razz emoticon
