This thing came with the scooter (found it in the glove box). It doesn't look like proper side stand and it sort of works

no, it's a jack for changing the rear tire. it cups the shock mount on the engine.

It's for changing the rear wheel, place it under the shock mount (I think) to hold up the rear. More civilized than laying the bike on its side.

most of them have a flat on the bottom where your rubber bootie is, so that it's a bit more stable. that one looks guaranteed to fall over if you use it.

About 150 miles in since I got it. Took it to about 55 mph today on a slight downhill

Well I don't have a spare wheel so it goes in the parts bin

You also have to have a regular stand that normally lifts the front wheel off the ground or the bike just falls over.
