I just bought the Single Seat PIAGGIO from SIP Scootershop to replace the stock seat on my 2001 Vespa et4. I never really liked the look of the blue et4 seat, so now after 20 years, I'm finally changing it. The locking mechanism is on the opposite side and in a different position. Anyone ever do this?
It's fine. A lot of people have put Lx seats on the ET4. The ET was the first twist and go, and most people who bought them were used to the PX or other old models, that you had to kick start from the right side. By the time the LX came out, they were treating it like any other scooter, motorcycle or horse, which you always mount from the left side.
So the original et4 seat has a visible lever. At the time I had posted yesterday, I was thinking that I had to switch both the lock and the lever to the new seat. But I just took a closer look and realized that the new seat already has a built in lever; it's just hidden. So I'm all good, and should be cruising in no time.
Cheers!
