I plan on tackling the valves towards the end of the week when the weather is predicted to turn to cold crap, highs in the mid twenties and lows in the teens.

It'll be a good time to make a pot of coffee, watch a how-to video or two, then dive into it.

I have everything I'll need to do the valves, valve cover gasket, the set of correct feeler gauges, and some other small items that came in the same 6000 mile service parts kit that the new belt and rollers, etc. did.

I'm not going to rush the procedure, but will try to get it done in one day, worst case, two.

Assuming that I live through the valve clearance thing, my next DIY maintenance project will be to change the coolant.

Changing coolant is a walk in the park compared to valves. Valve adjustment is simple enough, it's getting your engine into a position to be able to access them that takes the time.

The hard part is deciding which coolant to use. Coolant is the new oil you know.

Another hundred miles today, so that makes 400 on my belt repair job without any problems showing up.
