Today, I visited a motorcycle dealer to take a look at slightly used Vespa Primavera 150cc (2021). I took it off the center stand to get a feel of the balance. But the plastic headset & dashboard squeaked like crazy (please see attached pic). I downloaded the pic from the web and added my comment.

Even a mild pressure with an index finger was enough to make it squeak. Even the sales person felt little embarrassed by it.

Is this common on all Primavera 150?
Or is it just a matter of taking the headset & dashboard off and refitting it.

The source of sound is definitely one plastic (blue headset) rubbing against another plastic (silver chrome plastic).

Sure would like to hear from Primavera 150 owners.

No squeaks from mine, but I have only 600 miles on it thus far. I'm really pleased with this machine!

Maybe a spritz of a Teflon lubricant would help the squeak.

Daily ride for about 4 months for me and no problem. Sounds like it wasn't fitted back after some work. Since you're saying both sides, that'd still be my guess.
Had mine apart 4 times and it just fits when taking apart/reassembling.

It either hasn't been assembled right, needs some lubrication, or needs some foam strips put into place to hold the pieces away from each other.

Possibly some combination of the three.

The steering is adjusted at the first service, and the brake fluid is checked and possibly replaced after 2 years - so it would have been completely normal for this piece to have been removed at least once as part of the regular maintenance schedule.

My guess is that it's either gone on slightly wonky, or not tight enough.

This should also be a very easy dealer fix. The sales guy might be unsure, but a mechanic will have the piece off and reinstalled in a couple of minutes.

Possibly but note that OP said it was at a motorcycle dealer not a Vespa dealer so the mechanic may not have taken the headset off or if he/she did, maybe did not fit it back properly. Maybe a second shot at it, will be more successful.

I have a 2016 Sprint 150 and no squeaky headset on mine.
