I recently purchased a GT200 and I do not know much about engines but necessity requires I do my own maintenance.

A while back I asked about some problems I have been having with my brakes and got some good advice.

I was poking around with a flashlight and saw something very troubling - a thrashed cable of some sort. This doesn't look big enough to be my brake cable/line, can anyone identify it for me? I had problems getting my phone in a position to take the photo. This was lower than the carburetor, kinda to the right.

That's the positive feed from the battery and should be secured in a cleat on the side of the frame away from the cylinder head, if you are not mechanically minded don't attempt to replace it, if its only the outer heat proof sheath that's frayed you can obtain the same in heat proof insulation tape and just re wrap it and secure it back in the cleat if the cleat is missing then you could use a tie wrap but it needs to be away from the head.
Should the copper wire be exposed underneath the sheath then to do it correctly it would require splicing to be most cost effective by an auto electrician, you could do that task yourself by wrapping with shrink tube but is a bit more invasive and requires some experience.

BUGGSY thank you!

That blows and yet, considering the number of broken bits of plastic and missing screws on the body I've already found, I am not shocked that a clip is either missing or damaged.

I will take a closer look at the damage and fingers crossed I can get away with wrapping!
