There seems to be some interest in these and I now have a guy who has a guy who is local in Indonesia and has them in inventory for reasonable money.

My guy is putting together an order for several more to cut shipping costs, some of both types. He's a legit Vespa guy, has a small collection including some older wide-bodies and I bought a '58 AllState frame from him. Hit me up for his contact info if you want to know more.

You are talking the two piece like the squarish green one, not the one piece cast older style? Here's more info on the two piece style from the expert!

You can see the Piaggio logo cast inside. I suspect that most of DanMotors tooling was made in Italy.
